The director, with the team’s input, will suggest what kind of gestures and movements the singer should make while performing the opera, what kind of costume he’ll wear, how his hair and make-up will look, and so forth. In this way you turn the opera into a genuine performance. You’ll be able to practice it again at the dress rehearsal.
