Education
Yo! Opera aims to actively introduce youngsters to opera and singing as an art form, and as an ideal means of expression.
Our education programme aims to make a significant contribution to music education in both primary and secondary schools. The programme focuses on opera and the students, who take an active and/or creative role. In addition to singing, the creative process – and thus our educational activities – also includes text-writing, composing and stage direction.
We always strive for a broader social context and opera’s potential place in it. What answers can opera offer to the social issues of the school or personal issues facing the students?
The introduction of a new generation of young opera makers to the classroom plays an important role in the education process. We believe that the co-operation between a pupil and an opera-maker can be inspiring and enriching for both parties.
